Weekend Writing Warriors #8sunday

Welcome to my stop on the Weekend Writing Warriors hop! My book Crash Into Me is almost through edits and ready for its ARC debut next week, so I’m sharing 8 sentences from it today. It’s a sexy contemporary romance, so here’s a sample. Enjoy!

A little setup: Nina Edwards is the female MC in Crash Into Me. Just a couple years out of college with an art history degree, she works at an art gallery. As anyone who’s lived through those early years of a career knows, it’s often less sexy than they’d imagined it would be. But sometimes, fate steps in and makes the job a little less odious.

Here’s the blurb for Crash Into Me, and below is the excerpt:
What would you give up for everything?

Tristan Stone was powerful, commanding, sex incarnate. And he wore it all so well. From the moment his mesmerizing gaze met mine, I had no choice but surrender to everything he was. His power. His decadence. His passion. He was all I never knew I needed.

He wanted to possess me, and I wanted to be his everything. All I had to do was accept what he offered. But everything has a price.

The world he gave me fulfilled my wildest dreams, but would that be enough when the past crashed into the present?

8:

His gaze fixed on mine, brown eyes staring at me as if we knew each other intimately. My brain told me to look away, to break the connection, but the rest of my body rebelled. I wanted to feel those eyes on every inch of me.

“Nina, what are you doing? I saw at least three patrons with empty glasses as I crossed the room. Chop, chop!” Sheila barked in my ear, tearing me out of my fantasy.

My boss marched away, and I watched as Tristan and his women moved on to another painting. Everything was as it should be with everyone in their correct place–him with a group of gorgeous women and me with my tray of cocktail weenies.

Hmmm – will she be enticed by Tristan (sounds like she’s lost already) or will something else happen to jar Tristan’s hold. Looking forward to finding out. Nicely done.

Alone with little weenies, poor thing. I need to know more about her and Tristan too. Intriguing snippet.

SJ Maylee-LOL on your comment. Something tells me Tristan has something in mind for her. Nice 8. You revealed a lot about her in a few sentences.

She’ll get to handle something other than little weenies eventually, I’m sure. Tristan might be far away right now, but he sounds like the kind of guy who gets what he wants.
